use #8 wood screws, or nails
For Concrete, Brick, or Steel:
Use a polyurethane outdoor construction grade adhesive.
When using the adhesive, run a bead of glue along the under side of the spike, make sure to press down onto the surface to ensure that the glue “mushrooms up” through the holes for better grip.
Other Methods:
Zip ties, Velcro, wire ties and twine can also be used to temporarily attach the spikes to a surface
3. Place the spike strip on the ledge leaving no more than a 1/2” in the front or back of the area to be treated. The spike strips do not need to be assembled, you simple lay the spikes end to end.
The spikes come in three different widths:
The stainless spike 2001 comes in 3”,5” &8” widths
The plastic spike 2000 comes in a 3”, 5” or 7” width
Our specialty spikes come in various widths:
Gutter Spike: 4” width, the attachment clamp can be adjusted to fit any size gutter.
The Mega Spike is 7” tall and 5” wide for use on large birds such as Raptors, Cormorants, and Gulls
Girder Spike: 3”, 5”, & 8” width, the clamp adjusts to fit any size girder
It is important that the whole ledge is treated to prevent birds from taking advantage of open spaces.
Once the bird spikes are installed, you can rest assure that the birds will move on to find a more inviting landing spot.
