How to keep small birds off your building

In many cases, small birds can be as costly a headache to building owners as large birds. Maybe not in their size, but in number. Spring is when they come looking for nesting sites, food and water. And most buildings provide these things—sometimes without even knowing it. Sprinkler systems create water puddles, open trash containers provide food, and rooftops offer all sorts of nooks and crannies for birds like sparrows and finches to nest. Once they’ve settled in, they can damage and deface many areas of a building. Fortunately, the bird control pros at Bird B Gone have a number of ways to keep small birds off buildings.

Bird Slope Panels

Bird-B-Gone’s Bird Slope panels deny birds access to all those 90-degree nooks and crannies in and around your building. When pest birds attempt to land on these angled, slippery panels, they slide right off. The panels are easily screwed, glued or nailed to any flat surface. A glue trough on the underside of each panel simplifies installation using standard outdoor polyurethane adhesives. A convenient "snap on" Slope Extender easy adapts the panels to ledges wider than 10 inches. Special mounting clips allow the panels to be easily installed vertically on the sides of buildings. And “end caps” prevent birds from getting behind the panels. Bird Slope comes in two colors—stone and grey. Bird Slope panels are made of UV-protected PVC material for lasting durability in punishing weather, and they are non-conductive for extra safety near electrical wiring.

Bird Jolt Flat Track

Humane and highly effective, Bird B Gone's Bird Jolt Flat Track works by modifying a bird’s behavior, for once shocked, birds are reluctant to return. Simple to install and set up, the track features a flexible UV-protected PVC base that bends a full 360° without compromising its integrity. The track can easily follow the rounded surfaces of signage letters and the curved architectural features of a canopy or arch. The track is totally waterproof and features tight connections to ensure both safety and installation ease. Installed, the low-profile track is almost invisible, since it measures just 1/4" at its highest point. Available in six colors, the track blends in easily with its surroundings. Bird Jolt Flat Track is the only electric track bird deterrent system with patented anti-arcing design to guard against track short outs. It’s also the only system with patented glue troughs along the base to insulate the track’s conductors. It comes in 100 ft. rolls, and can be glued down to virtually any surface. The entire system is powered by either an AC charger or solar charger.

Heavy Duty Bird Netting—3/4” Mesh

Bird-B-Gone’s Bird Net 2000 Heavy Duty Bird Netting 3/4” mesh creates a physical barrier that denies pest birds access to openings and overhangs of your building. This netting is often specified by architects and contractors. Made of tough UV-stabilized polyethylene, the netting rot-proof, waterproof and flame resistant. It blocks birds through an extreme range of temperatures—from -250F to +270F. Because it’s a non-conductive material, the netting can be used around electrical systems and RF transmission antennas without causing shorts or microwave interference. Bird Net 2000 also meets the stringent requirements of ISO 1806 and 9001 Protocol Mesh Testing for quality and mesh burst strength. The black netting is backed by an industry leading 10-year guarantee.
