Bird Control for Signs

Bird Control for Signs

The best way to get rid of birds perching and nesting on your sign is to install effective bird control products. A storefront sign covered in bird poop can be detrimental to your business. Storefront signs provide a place to perch and, in many cases, large letters to nest in.

Before we dive into bird deterrents that work, we need to discuss the different bird behaviors you see on the sign. You can bracket bird activity into two categories: nesting birds and non-nesting birds. Nesting birds will require specific methods while non-nesting birds will have a lower motivation level to remain in the area. This will make non-nesting birds easier to deter comparatively to those who have established nests on the sign.

Note: It is important to clean away nesting materials and droppings thoroughly before installation of products.

Birds Nesting In, On, or Behind Signs

Store signs experiencing nesting birds will need to take advantage of exclusionary methods such as Bird Netting. Signs that are mounded to the building typically have large letters for small birds to nest in. Netting off the sign completely is the most effective method of bird control. This method excludes birds from accessing every part of the sign. Our Bird B Gone bird control experts work with Authorized Installers across the county to protect establishments from nesting birds. Black netting may sound obtrusive but when installed correctly is discrete and invisible to the naked eye.

A discussed earlier, non-nesting birds have a lower motivation to remain in the area. Spikes, electric track and gel products work well to deter birds from roosting on signs.
