How to use bird deterrent lasers to keep birds away

Pest birds in open and semi-open spaces have long posed a costly problem to property owners and managers. While propane cannons can scatter birds, they can also be disruptive and must be repeated often to keep birds from coming back. Lethal means of bird control—poisons, pellet guns and inhumane traps—are illegal in many areas, as many birds are protected by law. The bird control pros at Bird B Gone offer a number of bird deterrent lasers that are humane and highly effective. Here’s how to use them:

Agrilaser®

This advanced handheld device uses patented optical laser-beam technology to harmlessly repel pest birds over distances—up to 2,000 meters.

Multi-Bird

The Agrilaser® repels geese, gulls, plovers, ducks, crows, cormorants, starlings, cranes, raven, stilts, herons, songbirds, magpies and pigeons. Pest birds react to the green beam as they would an approaching car, so they flee the area. Livestock such as cows, pigs and chickens will ignore the laser beam.

Multi-Use

The Agrilaser® removes birds from open spaces like ball parks, stadiums, monuments, marinas, dump sites, ponds, golf courses and other troublesome areas. It’s also highly effective in deterring pest birds in and around big box stores, warehouses, airplane hangers and other semi-enclosed areas.

• Multi-Weather

Most effective during sunrise and sunset, and in overcast, rainy or foggy weather conditions, the Agrilaser® is moved slowly over the ground towards the targeted birds. After using the Agrilaser® for about seven days, birds will consider the area unsafe and will avoid the area. Each Agrilaser® comes with a battery pack that consists of two rechargeable batteries and an associated power charger.

Aerolaser®

Combining airport bird control with handheld portability, the Aerolaser® requires minimal training and even includes a scope for exceptional accuracy.

• Goes the Distance

The Aerolaser® can repel birds over a distance of 2,500 meters, even on bright days. Like the Agrilaser®, the Aerolaser® is moved slowly over the ground towards the targeted birds. A red-dot sight provides increased long distance accuracy and safety. It lets users accurately aim the device at the desired target before activating the laser.

• Maximum Safety

A patented Horizon Safety System alerts users via LED indicator, subtle vibration and sound if the laser is used in an uncontrolled or dangerous manner. It deactivates the laser beam, eliminating the possibility of endangering pilots, passengers and personnel. A key lock system prevents unauthorized use. The Aerolaser Handheld comes with rechargeable batteries, a power charger and durable case.

Aerolaser Groundflex System

The Aerolaser Groundflex produces a continuously moving laser beam that keeps airport “hot spots” free of birds 24/7.

• Long Range, Wide Sweep

The Groundflex can be set to sweep an area in random intervals to keep birds from getting used to the laser. Its long-range beam (up to 2,500 meters) repels ducks, seagulls, herons, crows, parrots, lapwings and more across vast distances and wide areas—up to 19 km2.

• Safe and Precise

To ensure accurate and safe positioning, the Groundflex has a resolution up to 0.003 degrees in both horizontal and vertical directions. The horizon safety system, optical encoders and self-calibration features ensure that the laser beam does not drift away from the pre-set positions. The unit is safe for aviation, humans and birds.

• Portable and Durable

For maximum operational flexibility in the field, the Groundflex can operate on both conventional AC power and a Lithium-ion power pack charged by integrated solar panels. Housed in a rugged module, the system remains stable even during harsh weather conditions.
