There is a way to keep the pests out of the area. One easy way is to shock them, and scare them away from the area. It sounds mean and hurtful, but it is actually a very humane and safe way to stop them from landing on unwanted areas. It is also a very discreet way to implement a bird control method which cannot be seen from the ground. This is different than spiked strips such as bird spikes and pigeon spikes. The shock track produces a mild electrical shock when the bird tries to land on its surface. The electrical current is not strong enough to harm them, but will condition them to stay away from the area. It is a great behavior modification that will keep them away from an area.
The shock tracks come in four colors to match the surface they are being laid down on. The colors include grey, stone, black and terracotta. The track can be glued, screwed or nailed down to most surfaces. The same is true about bird spikes. They can also be installed the same way. However, the shock tracks are good for small and large pest birds whereas the spiked strips are only effective on larger pest birds such as pigeons. Bird spikes are virtually invisible when installed correctly. The shock tracks are only ½” high and 1 ¾” wide. They come in 100’ rolls. The tracks are light weight and flexible, made of UV stabilized PVC. One 100’ roll only weighs 15 pounds. The shock tracks are also sold in kits to include the necessary hardware.
Like bird spikes, the tracks can be applied to ledges, rooflines, parapet walls, I-beams, eaves and signs. They can be applied to any flat or curved surface. Company signage is an area where the birds like to hide out, roost and nest. Both the shock track and bird spikes are ideal for this area.
Plastic bird spikes are the lowest cost bird spike. They come in standard colors including crystal clear, white, black, light grey, concrete tan, brown, brick red and custom colors can be ordered. The spikes will not puncture the birds or harm them. They simply create an even surface that the birds find difficult and uncomfortable to land on. A plus about the plastic bird spikes is that they are non-conductive and will not interfere with electrical or communication and transmission.
