During bird season, it is important that you and your crew are safe from exposure to weather conditions such as extreme heat and drought while performing physically demanding work. If you don’t take the proper precautions, heat illness, exhaustion, and stroke could occur. In this Two Minute Tuesday episode, Julie will discuss how to work safely in extreme heat, OSHA’s heat index, and the heat safety tool - a mobile application that allows workers and supervisors to calculate the heat index for their worksite, and, based on the heat index, displays a risk level to outdoor workers.
