Different Forms of Goose Control
One of the nuisance waterfowls around is the Canada Geese. You will often see them near any place there is a water source including lakes, ponds, golf courses and pools. They eat vegetation near the edge of the water including aquatic vegetation, grass, roots and young sprouts. Their loud honking and chasing each other around will notify you of their existence. You may want to feed the geese if you are at the park or even on the golf course, but this does not help the matter and they might start chasing you to get their share of that day old bread.
Thankfully, there are many different forms of goose control that will get rid of geese from your property. The fecal matter they leave behind is one reason you want to deter them. All bird droppings, geese included, are a nasty mess. The droppings harbor disease, fungus and parasites. If geese are on your grass, and you are walking around after them, you could be in danger of bringing the fecal matter into the home.
Goose Control Devices
Liquid goose deterrent is a non-toxic substance that can be sprayed on the lawn to keep geese away. The liquid goose repellent spray is made from grape extract that is a substance that the geese do not like. The liquid goose repellent irritates the birds mucous membranes and trigeminal nerve and causes a very uncomfortable sensation that they will not like. The spray will last up to three months and is not washed away by rain or watering.
Sound goose control products are a very effective way of keeping the geese out of large open spaces. There are sonic goose control devices that broadcast goose distress calls through a speaker. The distress calls are broadcasted intermittently and the sound deterrent device can be programmed to play during the day or night. The geese will hear the calls and will fly away in fear. There is no harm done, as the sound deterrent is just a convincing way to get rid of geese.
A coyote decoy is a visual goose deterrent that is a common goose deterrent for many. A coyote decoy is a life-like decoy made out of U.V. resistant plastic that is very durable and will come through various weather elements. It is a very easy goose control method to put into action. Just plop it down on the yard, or better yet, set it on a post near the grassy area or water source. Coyotes are a natural predator of geese, so they will want to fly away from their predator. It is easy and necessary to change the location of the coyote decoy from time to time so the geese do not get too use to it.
Integrating one, two or three goose control methods will keep the goose from becoming comfortable on your property. The combination of goose control products will keep the area fresh and new and will keep the geese away for good.
